We are so proud of Phoenix class who were so well behaved today when walking around our town. Members of the public stopped to say how amazing they were. We were looking for technology in our local environment.
Year 3 have been finding out about the Dutch artist Piet Mondrian and his unique style of painting. Mondrian used broad lines and primary colours in his designs. His work has influenced fashion and design from clothing to shoes to houses!
We have been inspired to create our own Mondrian style animals!
This week we our using the text ‘Bunda’s Dreamings’ by Jay Mathews. The stroy is based on the aboriginal Dreamtime. We are enjoying meeting Bunda and his grandmother and sharing her fantastic aboriginal animal tales!
Today we have created our own book covers with enticing blurb, made rainbow serpents, created traditional aboriginal style dot paintings and made tasty Australian honey joy cakes!!! What a busy day!
